U.S. Supreme Court to Review Challenge of Barack Obama’s Citizenship

Next month, the United States Supreme Court is expected to meet to review a case which asks whether or not Barack Obama is a "natural-born citizen" and thus qualified under the U.S. Constitution's to become president. A similar suit has been brought by President-Elect Obama's former rival Alan Keyes in California, where the secretary of state has been petitioned to withold electoral votes from Mr. Obama until the question of citizenship is resolved.

The GOP needs an image rehab.It may seem like stating the obvious, given the Democrats ever-increasing advantage in congress and Barack Obama’s handy victory over Sen. John McCain on November 4, but according to a new Gallup Poll out Thursday, the majority of Americans appear to be completely disenchanted with the Republican Party.

High-flying Winona Ryder OD's, Rushed to Hospital

Proposition 8 Headed to California Supreme Court for Review

On Wednesday, the California Supreme Court agreed to review five lawsuits challenging the recently passed Proposition 8 which effectively banned same-sex marriage in the state of California. The court did not however allow a stay that would have put the initiative on hold and allowed gay and lesbian couples to continue to marry until the legal issues surrounding it have been resolved.

Obama Makes Tom Daschle Secretary of Health and Human Services

President-elect Barack Obama has appointed former Democratic majority leader, Tom Daschle, to the post of Secretary of Health and Human Services. In the role, Daschle who led the Democrats until Republicans won control in 2002 and was defeated for re-election in 2004, will be responsible for heading the agency responsible for implementing Barack Obama’s proposed national health care plan.
